The little moments
When you’re laying in bed and the dog’s nose is touching your face, when the first raindrops are falling on the rooftop, when you’re shivering in anticipation of a thunderstorm coming closer, when you’re cuddling yourself up again under your blanket, when you’re searching for that moment before you became aware of all that, always that moment before,
You know, without knowing, true happiness is just the little moments.
When you’re coming home from work, still reiterating all that’s been said and done during a day, when you’re just sitting down on the sofa, breathing in and out, smelling the scent of freshly brewed coffee, when your mind is slowly getting dull with memorizing the days errands, forgetting all its busyness, just for that moment of letting it all go,
You know, without knowing, true happiness is just the little moments.
When you’re looking back at your life, earnestly trying to recapture the beautiful experiences and outstanding revelations, the milestones of spiritual maturing, the pleasantness of achievements, or looking for reasons for the lacking of all that, with watering eyes and trembling hands and your heart again failing to be open enough, when you’re just surrendering to all that’s been missing and to the imperfection of this instant, of this moment now,
You know, without knowing, true happiness is just the little moments.
